The Vishalgad House stands as a proud testament to the rich history and cultural grandeur of Maharashtra. It has long been the esteemed residence of the illustrious Jahagirdar of Vishalgad, a family which served as the Prime Minister to the Chhatrapati of Kolhapur State.

Built around 1855 during the reign of Shahu Maharaj of Kolhapur this historic mansion reflects the era’s regal charm and architectural brilliance. The chief of Vishalgad at that time, Shrimant Krushnaji alias Abhajirao Pant Pratinidhi, played a pivotal role in shaping the house’s identity.

Wedding photo of Late Shrimant Trimbakrao Bhavanrao alias Appasaheb Pant Pratinidhi (born on 9/1/1911 – passed away on 11/6/2001), erstwhile Jahagirdar of Vishalgad, with Chi. Sou. Kan. Prabhavatidevi Vyankatraosaheb Ghorpade, Princess of Ichalkaranji Sansthan (born on 13/11/1918 – passed away on 6/1/1992) on 17th June 1934. After marriage, she was known as Shrimant Sou. Shailajadevi Vahinisaheb Pant Pratinidhi Vishalgadkar.
